Repertoire
The repertoire runs on three axes: the post-war concerto literature — Zimmermann, Eötvös, Gruber, Jolivet, Tomasi; the chamber writing that has grown around him at the Ensemble intercontemporain; and brass, with Trombamania and the Paris Brass Quintet, both of which he co-founded. He founded the Surgères brass and percussion academy in 1998, and has directed Le Son des Cuivres in Mamers since 2013 and the Surgères Brass Festival since 2016.
He plays Antoine Courtois, Paris, and designed three of the maker’s instruments with the designer Adrien Jaminet: the Bellecour B♭ trumpet, the Bellecour cornet and the AC335 Confluence range.
